Game Recap

The Berkeley Lady Stags won a water-soaked first round playoff match on Monday after a two-piece hour lightning delay at Kelleytown Stadium. The Stags got an early goal when Shelby McCutchen found the net on a rebound to put Berkeley up 1-0 before the oncoming storm cleared the field. After a delay that kept both teams indoors until after 9:30, play finally resumed and Jaylin Wheeler quickly scored a header from a Shelby McCutchen cross to give the Stags the insurance goal. Alyssa Morrell then found the back of the net to put Berkeley up 3-0 at the half. In an abbreviated second half, Jaylin Wheeler again found the goal to put the Stags up 4-0 at the whistle. Berkeley advances to the second round and will travel to Chapin on Wednesday.
