Girls Varsity Swimming · Sarah Mundy earns girls swimmming award

Berkeley junior Sarah Mundy is gearing up for a strong senior season after stapling herself as one of the fastest swimmers in the state.

The Stags speedster clinched first place in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles at the Class AAAA state championships last fall. She notched a time of 24.11 in the former and 52.06 in the latter. Mundy was named to The Post and Courier’s All-Lowcountry swim team and the High School Sports Report’s all-state team based on her performances.

Mundy has been making a splash for some time. She was named to the 2016 and 2017 Region 8-AAAA swim team, as well as the 2016 and 2017 All-Lowcountry team.

She earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors in 2016 and 2017 and was a 2017 Winter Junior National qualifier.
