Julie Dobbs is a native of Slocomb, Alabama and graduated from Slocomb High School. After high school, she attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama and finished her education at Troy University in Troy, Alabama. She graduated Cum Laude from Troy with a BS in Sociology and a Political Science minor. During her time at Spring Hill, she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority and a competitive cheerleader. In addition to competing at the Universal Cheer Association’s (UCA) College Championships in Orlando, Florida, she was a captain of their squad and a paid coach’s assistant.
Dobbs believes her passion for coaching began as a cheerleader in high school. Every summer their team would hold a youth camp, and this continued throughout college. This is her first head coaching position but she is confident she will help lead the team to success. “I really want to push the girls this year. I have heard great things so far, but I want to build on that and turn it into a respectable and successful program. The main purpose of the cheer team is to support the other athletic teams, but in addition to that I would like us to start competing this year. That means more time and effort but I am sure the girls are willing to work towards it,” said Dobbs.
Julie and her family are new to area but are excited to join the Berkeley Family and Moncks Corner community.
