The Stags Varsity Boys Soccer team lost to their region opening game 2-1 at Goose Creek Friday night in a very well played, competitive, and hard fought soccer match. Fans were treated to a game that featured two evenly matched teams and a very well played soccer match. Goose Creek got the scoring started about 10 minutes into the match, but the Stags answered right back with the equalizer off a header from Devante Pesnall with an assist from Sean Kyle’s indirect kick right outside the box. The first half ended with the score tied 1-1. Throughout the second half chances were to be had by both teams to try and break the tie. Goose Creek ended up getting the winning goal around the 75th minute and although the Stags had some great runs in the last few minutes were unable to put a goal in to get the equalizer.
The Stags fall to 0-1 in the region, with games postponed till further notice.
